Gmazza - I am not sure if they are as painful as the ones in Paraguay. I know they are all the same species. When I was in Peru we slept (hammocks and tents) in an area were there were hundreds (nest was close) and no one had any issues. One of the guys with was bitten by one before and had some pain, nausea for about 24 hours. He said that different populations in different countries have different amounts of pain associated with them. Don't quote me, but I want to say he said Argentina produces a pretty painful one.
