p.1 #1 · Free play in 5D2 battery grip

Hi all,

First post in non-Buy-and-Sell forum..

I just got my 5D2 and grip via the mail today..

I noticed the wheel has some free play after tightening it, is that normal? Once I've tightened it I can take my finger to it and move it around without further tightening or loosening it.. Is anyone else seeing that?

Thanks,

-Joseph..

Once tightened, a little loose play back and forth would be normal. If you got it used and it has been over-tightened you could have more play, as the plastic wheel has a metal nut in it and the plastic fit on the nut could have been enlarged by forcing it after the nut was actually fully tight. As long as the plastic wheel still tightens the nut and doesn't slip on around, which is possible if the plastic fitting has gotten reamed out, you are ok.
