p.1 #1 · Grey Market Service?

Okay, for all you people who have bought grey market lenses, when you have had a service or repair issue, who do you get to service your lens? I am looking at a lens that is a grey market but am leery because of the service issue. I am aware their is no warranty service but who will fix it out of warranty? Thanks

Not trolling but Canon will fix any lens that they manufactured. Out of warranty repairs are paid for by the owner. That's all. There is no "grey market" exclusion for out of warranty work. Hopefully Nikon will be the same.

From everything I have read, they will not. Therein lies my problem. Thanks for rubbing it in though

I highly recommend APS (Authorized Photo Service) in Illinois. My experience has been great work at reasonable rates and the turnaround time is reasonable.

Try contacting either APS or KEH to see what their repair policies are.

You'll have no problem getting your lens serviced with APS. And most likely, much quicker than with Nikon.
