I'm considering selling my D700 and a friend offered me $1500 and I'm wondering if that's a reasonable price. It's got a little over 90k on the shutter.
All of the rubber grips are starting to lift and there's a decent amount of wear on the camera (scratches, brassing, etc.)
It's still functioning fine, but doesn't look too pretty.
I think the only real problem is the pop-up flash doesn't lift up properly, you have to lift it because the spring-mechanism doesn't open it anymore.
What do you folks think?
fair deal leaning towards the buyer, you could get more for it probably, ebay would bring more albeit with more fees to pay. But you gotta think, what are you going to use after you hand it over? D7000 or wait for the D800 D4?

I'm buying a 5DII with a few lenses. I plan on splitting up my Nikon gear.
seems like an ok deal for both of you, as long as your both happy with it. I would rather pay a few hundred more for one in better shape myself, but if he's happy, that's all that matters.
