p.1 #1 · 35/1.8G on D700 - Anyone Else Using This Combo?
I've seen a few threads regarding this - I even tried a 35/1.8G on my D700 this past week and it looked pretty good.
I've got some equipment to trade in on and I thought this might be a good use of the funds. My 50/1.2 and 50/1.8G are great, but sometimes they aren't wide enough for tight spaces (like inside functions, dinner table, cafe shots, etc.).
Anyone else recently started using this combo for near distance candid shots (i.e., NOT for landscapes, etc.)?
If so could you post some more samples?

Funny thing, I actually just recently took some shots with my friends 35 1.8G on my D700. It was tack sharp (as usual) and I could definitely live with the vignetting, it was mostly correctable in post. I really wish Nikon would make a revamped 35mm f/2 or something, but that seems like it would cut into 35 1.4 sales.

For short distance shots the 35 1.8 is absolutely useable on a D700. I use it all the time. When I'm using this lens it's usually because I need more light and the dark corners don't bother me at all, in fact it's not even visible at all cause the rest of the frame is dark anyways except the subject.
