After all the glowing reviews of Gitzo quality and service, I contacted them regarding getting replacement collor/sleeve for my broken explorer. I contacted them through their USA support page leaving email and phone #. I'm on day 3 with no reply.
i will today. However, i need a parts schematic first before I can order the part so I was hoping to not waste time with that. If they could email me the parts list I could call them with exactly what parts i need, sigh...

Yes, they can be a tad slow to respond at times. Did you call their NJ number - (201)818-9500?
Gitzo service is done by Manfrotto in the US and they are typically slow and unresponsive. I have no idea who gave them a glowing review - maybe it was for quality of work.
Several times when I finally got through to the Gitzo US parts and service, they had no stock on what I needed. One was a waranty situation where they were saying 4 to 6 weeks, plus I had to have my original reciept, even though the particular model had just come out 6 months ago. For that, I did my own repair for an un bonded leg tube, because I needed to use the tripod.
The second time was for parts I needed to convert a tripod to have different features. For that second need, after hearing 8 weeks to get one of the key parts, I discovered a good on line source of parts in the UK, and they had everything in stock. They also shipped in a way that it got here very fast from over the pond. Check them out at:
They have good parts diagrams available on line, and seem to indicate their stock status for everything. The prices were the same or even less, and every aspect of my dealings with them were perfect. Now for parts I never need to consider calling or emailing the US distributor of Gitzo.
well, now you have the parts ID.
now you need to make the decision to call Manfrotto Distributing and find out if the parts and quantites you need are in stock along with pricing and shipping. i live about 51 miles away from them and i still call in and have items shipped. after all it is NJ and it's bad enough i have to drive to work.
its all up to you and yes they can be a challenge at times.
