I just bought a Canon 200mm f2.8L lens today. When i tried it at home, i noticed that its focusing sound is not very quite. It's not 'very loud' but it's generating sound that my Canon 100mm 2.8L (marco) does not. I did not notice this sound at the shop as the surrounding was a bit noisy there.
The sound it generates is almost equivalent to my Canon 50mm 1.4. As this is a 'L' lens, i expect it a more quite lens.
Any owner of this lens can share with me your experience ?
