I've sold my old camera equipment (Canon Rebel 300d, Canon 17-85) and ready to buy new.
Which one:
Canon T2i with Tamron 28-75
or
Refurb Canon 60d with refurb Canon 18-135
I mainly shoot family photos. Video is not important.
I would vote 60D with the tammy :-) but the budget may not stretch that way.
What didn't you like about the old setup..... Without any info... I would pick on the lens and go with the first but if you hated the rebel then that is prob not a good option.
60D + Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 or just get the 18-55mm IS. The 18-55mm IS will be shorter than the 18-135mm obviously, but it has better image quality and is significantly cheaper so you can save money for something better later.

I was thinking more about the lens than the camera. What pushes everyone toward the 60D over the T2i?
I've had both the 60D is a little larger, less plastic construction and some nice features. Nice features include swivel LCD, great for live view even if you don't need video, multiple raw sizes, on camera editing. I don't recall if the T2i supports wireless control of 430/580 EX II flashes but the 60D does.
