I have a couple of friends who are on the roster to hostle/operate the locomotives at Railtown 1897. They invited me to capture the day's operation and here are a few of my favorites from the early morning in the roundhouse.
Very nicely done. I like them all, but the first one is the standout of the group - it remonds me of a horse barn with the horses sticking their heads out of the stall doors.

Michael, we shot Railtown twice last year and are going back again in the spring. it is easily a place were we can shoot for hours. your shots are wonderful.

I like everything about the draw of #1 except the garbage can I am forced to look deeper into the image to explore, neat. The black ceiling makes for a dramatic image.
#4 now that is some gadgetry! I like this shot for the tie of man and machine.
Sure looks like a great place to explore, nice images.

A beautiful series mixing with great success closer and wider views in a very stimulating lighting. I absolutely love the fifth image, with all its tools and a Charlie-Chaplin's-Modern-Times feel to it.
This is a wonderful series and each picture deserves presentation in its own right.
No favorites. They are all too good. But I love how you have included images capturing some of the rising steam.
These are terrific - love no 4 and the last, but all are great. They remind me of the trains I rode as a boy - and which had such character which can never be matched by diesel or electric locos.

I was tempted to clone it out because it does stand out a bit, but decided to leave it in since it is an honest capture of this historic facility as it looked in 2011.
