Someone is offering me a good looking Leica 280/4 APO. I am wondering if the CPL drawer is the same as the 180 Summicron's. If not, what would be the part no? Thanks.
PS. I prefer CPL drawer over general 77mm CPL filter.
According to the "Handbook of the Leica System 1996/97", Edition September 1996, 2-39 (no page numbers), it's the 13338 which is the Series 5.5 circular polarizing filter, in drawer.
The 180/2.0 takes the 13340 (I have it).
FYI, the 13340 cost a bomb when I bought it new. Virtually no chance of finding one on Evilbay, at least not when I was looking for one. That's not to say you won't find what you are after in a bargain bin for $5 dollars, but hell, you'd be lucky.
On the other hand, you probably already have E77 polarising filters so I'm not sure it's worth the expense or effort to buy the filter drawer version. I'm not trying to talk you out of it or anything.
Thanks for the info. I also have 13340, it's a joy to use. Interestingly, the guy who sold me 13340 said that he was intended to purchase the drawer for modular telephotos (13338?), but made a big mistake. If I couldn't find any, the threaded CPL is the only option.

According to the book I quoted earlier the modular telephoto's take the series 6, like the 180 Cron. Although I have used one (had the R 280/2.8 for a couple of days) I can't say I paid any attention to the filter drawer or size. It would be an expensive mistake to make if he had to buy it new.
You are right. 13340 fits modern 180/2 and modular telephotos. The 13338 will fit older telephotos and, of course, the 280/4 APO. I really wish I could use 13340 on it.
