.....Which ones would you choose ?

If you are a lens collector or aspire to become one , here is your chance to shed the shackles of minimalistic gear thoughts and indulge in virtual opulence.

Many of the Canon lenses are in my sig, but my Nikkor army is hidden in the bushes.

Very clever, Matej.
I suppose that Noctilux is the f/0.95 kind.

I don't need 20 EF lenses. In fact, this setup would suffice:

17-40/4 L
24-70/2.8 L
70-200/2.8 L IS II
100-400/4.5-5.6 L IS

24/3.5 L TS-E
35/1.4 L
50/1.2 L
85/1.2 L
100/2.8 macro
135/2 L
300/2.8 L IS

I can do with just 11 EF lenses. Of course, right now, I have none. Time to start building that kit, as it will take a very long time...

The 200/2 L IS was tempting to consider; the 500/4.5 L to a lesser extent...but these aren't really rational/practical for the sort of photography I do if were to already have a 300/2.8. It's going to be one or the other, and I think that the 300/2.8 plus the 135/2 is more versatile than 200/2 and 135/2. 400/4 DO IS is still kind of tempting, but impractical.

Man, someone has been reading "Lens Work III" a bit too much lately.

Canon Photojournalist f/2.8 Trifecta: 16-35, 24-70, 70-200mkII

Canon Fast Prime Holy Trinity: 35L, 85L, 135L

Some rare Canon glass: 50 f/1.0L WITH BOX!, 200 f/1.8L, 1200 f/5.6L

And since I've always wanted to try Zeiss glass, and since I'm collecting here: Carl Zeiss SLR Lens Set: Distagon 2,8/21, Distagon 2/28, Distagon 2/35, Planar 1,4/50, Planar 1,4/85

Damn, that's only 14.

Okay...ah, the Canon Tilt-Shift Collection: 17 f/4L, 24 f/3.5L, 45 f/2.8, 90 f/2.8

18...

Canon 8-15 f/4L Fisheye
Canon 400 f/2.8L II

All done!

I can't believe that I forgot my 16-35mm f/2.8 II (I already own this one).

And of course the Noctilux would be the f/0.95. I can't stand slow lenses like the f/1 kind.

OK, if I have to limit to only 20, these are the ones I'd have:

Canon 8-15 f/4L fisheye
Canon 17 TS-E
Zeiss Distagon 21 f/2.8
Canon 24 TS-E II
Canon 35 f/1.4L
Canon 50 f/1.2L
Canon 85 f/1.2L II
Canon 90 TS-E
Canon 135 f/2L
Canon 185 f/3.5L macro
Canon 200 f/2 IS
Canon 300 f/2.8L II
Canon 300 f/4L IS
Canon 400 f/2.8L II
Canon 400 f/5.6L
Canon 500 f/4L II
Canon 800 f/5.6L
Canon 24-70 f/2.8L
Canon 24-105 f/4L
Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS II

Not too exciting. If I was more familiar with alternate lenses, I'd probably want more of them.

You'd probably be amazed at how good 500 f/4.5L is.
