Hope this does not inadvertently turn in to a "best crazy video" contest where people endanger themselves and destroy camera gear in hopes of having it replaced by B&H. It is great that they took pity on him, but obviously they can not do that on a regular basis.

Apparently not. While discussing this I told the boss I'd left the windows of my car open the last time it rained and needed B&H to buy me a new Acura TL. That isn't happening. :-)

Henry, If B&H replaced this camera, could you give us the reasoning? In my opinion, while a nice gesture, you guy's (assuming you work for B&H) just opened a door you should have left closed. Replacing gear damaged because of stupidity?
If I dropped my 500 and broke the front element because I tripped on a tree root, is B&H gonna replace it? No - well you did it for him.
