Good grief there are a crazy number of images and not really a question or any useful info. Why not just post a link to a website if they are random images and not gear-related?

Some of us want to enjoy what people present in terms of photos, and not all of us want to hear technojargon on ones opinion. Pictures speaks a thousand words, not ones rambling of pixel peeping
Thanks Phil, you took the words right out of my mouth. Not that I dont have any thoughts to share about this incredible lens. And as far EB-1 he is free to buy his own Canon 5D2 and 200 1.8 IF-ED EF L and make his thread:_.
One thig I noticed is when waiting for the lens to arrive. I went searching for images taken with the 200 1.8 IF-ED EF L and I was surprised at how little images there where. Don't get me wrong there plenty of shots of some indoor sports but very little in the way of .. creative photography.
And to me a there is nothing like long fast lens like the Canon 200 1.8 IF-ED EF L to get the creative juices flowing.
Before I go on a couple of images taken today.
One of missed focused images. I got several today. I was one AF and put it right over the dogs eye and recomposed.
with polarizer
So I went in to my local camera store to pick up a pair of $40 Lowe pro gloves. I also wanted to test the 1.4 and 2 x canon converters and the extension tube . With the 1.4 on the 200 1.4 IF-ED EF L the images where
excellent. I didnt have much time to use the converter but here is one image.
The 2X was less impressive but still usable. I did not the AF really struggled with moving objects.
Caon 200 1.4 IF-ED EF L on 5D2 with 1.4 converter.
So there is a Canon 400 2.8 IF-ED EF L version twon sitting in the show case. It's been there a loooong time. Last time I was there I enquired about making an offer but the manager wasnt there. This time he was there, so after I took it out for a little test dive. I made and offer and they accepted. Now I got thin out the Nikkor glass a wee little bit in order to get the cash.
It's funny I was talking to my good pal tonight and like him, I started off shooting Canon many years ago.
So I guess it's kind of a full circle thing. Steve admitted to me he is all ready to looking for 200 1.8 IF ED EF L so he can play to
I am still getting to know the camera/lens and it's starting to feel more instintive. It just take time.
I want to check out one of the 1D version 3 ? , camera's in the near future.
Good to see you joined me on the light side! The other lens which you should be looking for is a good copy of the EF 50 1.0L, while the 58 Noct has excellent coma control there is just something about the Canon 50 which makes it gloriously unique for a SLR lens.
I am way ahead of you. I had the Canon 50 1.0 EF L with last Canon 5D2 . And I agree it's amazing lens. And having used the Leica 50 1.0 Noctilux for several years and the Nikkor 58 1.2 Nocturnal, the Canon 50 1.0 EF L , more than hlods it's own . Its got such a amaxing signature and the bokeh.. to die for.
I am kind of kicking myself for letting that one go as it was a really good copy and the AF was spot on.
So yes the 50 1.0 is most definitely on the get it back and love it some more list.
Kind of reminds of girl, I am involved with right now...
If you're looking for lenses which are uniquely Canon (I take it for granted that you're familiar with the 24L II, 85L II and 135L), have you looked into the 17 & 24II TS-Es?
It's true that Canon has rarely impressed with ultrawide lenses, but those two are jawdropping performers, even if you just shoot them straight through with no adjustments. I read somewhere that if you hook them up via a Hartblei H-Cam to a 80mpix MFDB, the 24 is fantastic wide open and the 17 is a little softer only in the extreme corners (of the MF image circle - this is the equivalent FOV of ~11ish mm rectilinear!! on 135 film)
Your stiking a cord with the 17 PC Canon . I already have the Nikkor 45 2.8 ED PC-E and love it. Plan on using it on the 5D2 as soon as I the Eos/ F mount get here.
Canon has some amazing glass.
So I went to the beer store and brought the new lens with me. They have seen me before coming in with camera's but the new fat white 200 1.8 ens really puts a smile on people faces.
It was funny as I walked to back to get the cold beer he asked me if I had a thermos
Taken in horrible florescent lighting with Auto ISO Auto white balance.

It's pretty awsome Phil,
The look of the images to my eye has the much the same signature as the Nikkkor 300 2.0. IF-ED AI-S. And at half the weight that is very good thing. For some reason the AF has a tendency to miss, really not sure why. But in most cases it's dead on.
The feel of the manual focus is very nice. So once I get the Proper screen it will be much easier to use without AF.
At first coming from the D3 the D3s , I thought the high ISO was pretty horrible. However, those inital shots where strongly back lit quite high contrast, which is a lot to ask.
But I done some more test and now it looks fine. Usable @3200 no problem.

Cool Gregory, yes 5DMKII's are know to be a hit and miss once in awhile, unlike those from the darkside which is always a hit . Canons 9 AF points vs nikons.....
Thats probably the most photographed cat ever, that cat as probably seen more lens and camera setups than me

Thanks for posting, Gregory! Not much technobabble here, I'm not missing it for sure, and just lots of pics of great glass (I'm dreaming on) and fantastic snapshots - thanks again

Thanks Eyvind , I appreciate your coments. More photo's to come.
Daniel, thanks for posting the comparison shots. My wrist hurts even looking at the Nikkor 300 2.0 IF-ED AI-S . My Pal David has mine right now, and untill my left wrist heals up, I am in no hury to get it back.
Phil, all images hand held except the shot of the building which was a 30 second exposer.
Tom, thanks for reposting my post on what you deem to be uncreative photography.
I went through some of you post on though, on the FM forum.
Im not sure exactly sure what your problem is but since you have having nothing better to do than pick a fight with me. Im more than game.
From what I can tell, you seem like to throw your negative comments around and no calls on it. Trust me Im not that guy, Your not the first internet tough guy Iv run into and more likey wont be the last.
Look cleary by your own comments you have "no eye" for a creative photography. The images your reposted where perhaps not my strongest work but consider that some where nothing more than test images with new gear. Taken on a reality new to me camera.
And having never seen "any" of your work" it's hard to comment on your photography.
For a fee, I would be more than happy to offer a critique and give you some suggestions.
I am not sure if it's a case of gear envy or if your lacking or feel feel inadequate in other area's,
Is everyting okay in your life?. Getting enough sleep, how is the home life?. Everything okay at work? .
Look I dont know you but you might want to consider redircting your negative energy into some a little more postive.
Feel free to get your own 200 1.8 EF and 5D2 and learn me how it's done.
