Nikkor 45 2.8 ED PC-E Vivitar 285 Flash bounced off roof.
I needed a DSLR for a project and the Video on the D3s wasnt cutting it. SO... I got my self used Canon 5D2 and look what it came with .
Thanks Phil. Great doing business with you.
I got the EOS / Nikon F adaptor mount coming and it should be here next week. Untill than the 200 1.8 IF-ED EF L is only lens I will be using on the 5D2 .
This is my second Canon 5D2 that I have used with Nikkor AI-S glass. Looking forward to getting this project done.

Would be interesting to see a comparison of 200 f/1.8 against Nikkor APO 20cm 1:2.0 ED USM VR L AF-S UD SSC.
Just the comparo I've been drooling for also. What a coinkidinky. Lol
Thanks you guys. Im new to the Canon section of the FM forum, so thanks for going easy on me.
Yes the Camera and lens are used but you would never know it. The 200 1.8 IF-ED ED L lens is especially clean and very photographic.
No plans to do a comparison with Nikkor AF 200 2.0, but I do own the Nikkor 200 2.0 IF-ED AI-S and might do a couple comparison shots with it, just just for fun.
In truth, I really didnt need this lens but when the oppurtunity presented it self. I had to jump on it. It was so clean, and deal was right and Phil a great guy to deal with. I couldnt help myself.
Give something to get somthing. It's all good.
I actually used a copy of this lens many, many years ago while shooting the Mac's Midget tournament in Calgary. The Canon rep was nicest enough to drop it off for me to try out.
At that time there was only the center AF on the EOS 1 film body so it was not that great( shots of the gloves while shooting vertical hockey cards) But the IQ was insane and it stick in the back of my head I would get one at some point.
I am looking for some Extension tubes and some converters. I also have the very cool 52 polarizer. If it's sunny I will using that quite often to be able to use F 1.8 in bright light.
Robert, I dont know what to say to make you get it. Can you just enjoy the photo's of the lens/camera even though there taken with a Nikon.
I can tell that you might be surprised that product shots of Canon are done with large format. And I plan to bust out my 4X5 speed graphic when I get a chance get some and do some large format product shots with this combo.
But as it is, I wanted to take some decent artistic shots, before It all marked up from use . And to me, it makes no difernce what camera/lens I using for the product shots.
Tomorrow I will going a street shooting so I will get some more images taken with the 5D2 and 200 1.8 combo. It's going to be sweet.

I'm not ripping on you, and I'm not worried about who shot what with what. Honestly, a lot of people use different glass on bodies, and I know that product shots are a lot of times, at least at the higher end done with MF backs.
Oh, your last picture, the Honda CRV...It's an 04ish range...becuase mine is the same color and year range.

For those who don't know him (probably most around here) NikkorAIS is a very well respected photographer on the Nikon camp.
Not only a very well accomplished photographer per se, with great work, he also owns a truly astonishing collection of lenses. One of which is the almighty Nikkor 300 f2.0. Yes, 300mm focal length, not 200mm. Not a typo.
It is a pleasure to see him here on Canon land.
Welcome.
Robert, he had to use Nikon gear to shoot the 200mm/5dII combo because that's the only canon gear he owns.
Peter (Petkal), in terms of gear owned, you have met your match.

Robert, No problem pal, thanks for taking the time to comment
Fraga, That for the kind words, And it's true the 5D2 is the only Canon Body I own at the moment. Looking for a film body to shoot some chrome and B+W/cross processing.
And it's true I have lucky enough to own some really sweet glass in my time. Presently the Nikkor 300 2.0 IF-ED AI-S is with my pal David but as soon i get the Adaptor I will get some shots up the 5D2 and that combo.

Shoot of todays sunrise with the Nikkor 800 5.6 IF-ED AI-S with TC-301 and the Nikon D3 using Live View. Mounted on the Wimberly/manfrotto.
So far the Canon 200 1.8 IF-ED EF L and the 5D2 are blowing me away with stunning IQ and very accarte AF. Of course it still hunts in very low light, but I am really pleased with the "feel" of the manual focus. I need to get a better screen, and than I am good to go.

Tom,
I am little confused about your statement, " for these kind of pictures a point and shoot would do".
What do you mean by "do".
If you mean I am shooting common subjects I guess your right. As far as that goes,"any" camera would do. One of my pal's uses his, I phone and gets some great shots. But they dont look like mine.
I'll give you a chance to respond.
