Does anyone have a recommendations on how I can fire my flash twice during an exposure?

I am using a D700 with an SB800 and use rear curtain sync, which I believe fires the flash at the end of the exposure. Is there a way to have it fire at the beginning of the shutter as well?

Is there a pulse/ strobe option?
