When did it become required to pay to make a post in the for sale section? for someone like me who was going to make a feeler post it seems a bit silly to pay 9 bucks just to make a post...
Compared to the price of selling on E-Bay this is very inexpensive. Granted, craigslist is free but that only means something if you have an active craigslist in your area. A fee was instituted some years ago to help finance improvements to this site. Fred has done an awesome job and I'm happy to pay an annual subscription fee both for the privilege of using the Buy and Sell board, and to have such a great resource available to me.
You can buy to your heart's content, but you can't initiate a listing in that forum. Good luck.
ALL websites require funds to stay current and keep up with the advancing technology. Fred has done an amazing job with this site in 10+ years.
How better to show your appreciation for his efforts, and the efforts of all who participate here, then to "pay to play". That includes posting ads on B&S and the "upload" feature. Either or or both!
It is a small pittence(spelling??) to pay for professionalism.

Ummm...the B&S is not meant for 'feeler' posts...either you have decided to sell an item or not. Whether or not you get your asking price is another matter but it's innapropriate to post a for sale and then leave a potential buyer 'hanging'.
It's only $9 bucks now? I had no idea it went down, but I will also ad that I am more than willing to pay to help support this forum that I use nearly every day.

It's $9 for only 30 days. (It's just a new option added to the payment system)

When I was a kid we didn't have FM to buy and sale photo gear. We had to walk in the snow (all year long) uphill (both ways) to our local camera shop.

You are being much too kind Fred... but that is one hell of an offer to those who only have one or two items to sell. As I keep saying, you're doing a great job with the site... on every level.
Sorry Roadcone, you're not getting any sympathy here...............
I pay $14/qtr to partake of Fred's well managed site, and I have no quarrels with it. Your "feeler" ad isn't a good idea, as stated before, either you're selling, or you're not.
