Wow! Our previous Adaptall thread is already dead? This thread dying stuff sucks butt! So, here's a new one in it's place. The old one can be found here: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/933378/1
Some of my previous image posts can be displayed by clicking the Last Edited Link just below. I think it will show one version of only links and one of all the images being displayed in-line.
And I'll start this thread with some new ones in the post below.
Nice images with the 27A & 55BB. I am going to dig out the 17mm, 28-80mm, 35-80mm and 90mm macro over the weekend and post images of the lenses and shots with them. I got rid of my 24mm f2.5 a while back, very soft in the corners on FF, even at f8-f11. It may have been a weak copy.
I would love to see a tripod comparison (maybe of a res chart?) between the 28-80 and the 35-80 wide open at 35mm, 50mm, and 80mm. I have my eye out for the 35-80mm but so far I've not run across it. This 28-80mm here is actually a second copy that I just got a few days ago. I couldn't remember which one I didn't have so I just got it. The 28-80mm has a very impressive MFT chart as does the 35-80mm.
Here is a start for the four lenses I'm going to shoot with over the next few days. From left to right are the: SP 17mm (ver2), 28-80mm, 35-80mm, and 90mm Macro (Model 72BB).
Just a few pix from some time ago, and "brickwall tests" with the 28-80 and 35-80 on the following pages.

How are you folks attaching the Adaptall 2 lenses to Canon DSLRs? I have 6 TA2 SP lenses, including the 500 f8 mirror...HELP!

You can stack 2 adapters...ie A2>OM>EF. The most common are the OM, C/Y, F, R, and M42. If you can find it, there is a original Tamron Adaptall>Canon EF version of the adaptall mount (it's labelled EF-M) that I've found works great but it's hard to find. There are a number off cheaper adaptall >EF mounts that can be found on ebay, but my experience wasn't great... the mount won't lock properly (I have one if you want to play with it)
This is my first post here at FM. My interest is almost exclusively in old MF lenses. I have three Tamrons; two Adaptamatic and one Adaptall 2. My favorite is the Adaptamatic 105mm f/2.5.
Ut oh, don't see how to share photos. Is it with the hyperlink button? No? See if this works...
Looks like you are going to enjoy it here, so when you can, add some comments to the photos about which lens was used, ect...the EXIF only helps if the lens is "chipped".
Thanks, Edd. The images are from the Adaptamatic 105mm f/2.5 as I suggested in the message. Exposure information is anyone's guess as I don't keep records while I'm shooting and my memory stinks these days. I can tell you I always shoot in manual mode and use ISO100 in all but the lowest light situations. My camera is a Sony A200. I choose my apertures according to the lens (how good fully open), the subject, and what I want from the background. All pretty sensible, right? I've been a photographer for 40 years and like how the manual lenses take me back to decision making and what I call real photography.
