Wow! Our previous Adaptall thread is already dead? This thread dying stuff sucks butt! So, here's a new one in it's place. The old one can be found here: http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/933378/1

Some of my previous image posts can be displayed by clicking the Last Edited Link just below. I think it will show one version of only links and one of all the images being displayed in-line.

And I'll start this thread with some new ones in the post below.

Can anyone guess which Adaptall lens this is? As a hint I'll say: it should be quite obvious just by looking at some aspects of the images! AFAIK, there's only one Adaptall which renders like this:

  DMC-GH1    1/2s    100 ISO    0.0 EV

  DMC-GH1    1/3s    100 ISO    0.0 EV

  DMC-GH1    1/5s    100 ISO    0.0 EV

  DMC-GH1    1/10s    100 ISO    0.0 EV

You mean rings of love right? Hehehe, but dang, nailed in the first post... It's the Tamron SP 500mm f/8 (55BB) mirror lens! And man is it sharp... If I had known how cool these things were I would have actively tried to acquire one previously. And not bad for space photography either! Here it is doing Jupiter in a single exposure (Stripes and FOUR moons! amazing). I guess stacking astro images from this puppy will be freeeek'n awesome. It's already of better center image quality than my $1,000 130mm reflector.

Cool! Take some pics with them and post'em up!

Nice pics Robotics-pro! I wanna see a 100% crop of that moon! I've been kinda waiting for the moon to show it's face so I could grab a few myself.

Hi Bifurcator,

Nice images with the 27A & 55BB. I am going to dig out the 17mm, 28-80mm, 35-80mm and 90mm macro over the weekend and post images of the lenses and shots with them. I got rid of my 24mm f2.5 a while back, very soft in the corners on FF, even at f8-f11. It may have been a weak copy.

Regards,

Edd

Cool! Looking forward to it!

I would love to see a tripod comparison (maybe of a res chart?) between the 28-80 and the 35-80 wide open at 35mm, 50mm, and 80mm. I have my eye out for the 35-80mm but so far I've not run across it. This 28-80mm here is actually a second copy that I just got a few days ago. I couldn't remember which one I didn't have so I just got it. The 28-80mm has a very impressive MFT chart as does the 35-80mm.

Hi Bifurcator,

Here is a start for the four lenses I'm going to shoot with over the next few days. From left to right are the: SP 17mm (ver2), 28-80mm, 35-80mm, and 90mm Macro (Model 72BB).

Just a few pix from some time ago, and "brickwall tests" with the 28-80 and 35-80 on the following pages.

Regards,

Edd

Hi,

I used my Sony NEX-5n for the first time today, with the SP 17mm and SP 28-80mm.

Regards,

Edd
