I was shooting from the north-east corner of the north tower into sunset at 6:53pm est.
1DsIII and 24-105L IS at f4 - 1/40 - iso800 - 24mm

Gotcha ... that makes sense ... shooting SW, southern exposure in northern hemisphere, south (i.e. left) is warmer. Thought about equalizing/neutralizing the variance from left side to right side, but resisted ... opting to enhance them a touch instead.
I think the variance color in the foreground/memorial adds life to it (important element for the subject, imo) ... the variance in the sky though seems a bit confusing to the viewer and I might consider balancing it a bit more, leaving the memorial unbalanced.
Any thoughts of a re-shoot @ ISO100, w/tripod
This is really nice ... it is striking, dynamic and yet sublime and subtle ... and with an 'infinity view' element to boot. Freaking impossible combinations to pull off ... worthy of a tripod, imo.
I do yearn a bit for the corners that got cut off ... not sure how that would change things, better/worse ... or influence to ability to get the 'infinity view'.
