The Las Conchas fire has been out of control here in New Mexico for the last ten days and there is still no end in sight from the raging fires. It is now the single largest fire in New Mexico history consuming more that 123,500 acres of forest including many homes and a large part of Bandelier National Monument
The fire has caused the evacuation of all the residents from Los Alamos last week and is now moving north into the sacred lands of the Santa Clara Pueblo.
Let us all hope and pray for rain to help stop the destruction from this fire.
I shot this image in Infra-Red to bring out the detail of the emerging smoke and smoke cloud formations.
