Thanks! I'm glad you like the cat shot with the Biotar 75mm. As I recall, it was either wide open, or at f2. I added the vignetting afterward, of course. I took that shot right after I got the lens in the mail, and sad to say, haven't used it since. I'll try to get out some time this week to use it some more.
Great! Look forward to seeing them! I just found some nice shots on flickr too with the lens. I can see that besides the swirly bokeh, this lens looks like to be uncorrected for SA and has the slower transition to OOF, retaining the shape of OOF objects better like the new ZE 35/1.4. It also renders really strong cat eyes which are even strong in the OOF areas. I can't wait to use this lens in some really creative ways. This lens sure has a lot of character due to uncorrected aberrations. Here is a link to one of the flickr shots I liked:
@michael49: I like the color and brick patterns of that church.Your CZJ has any problem with 5D mirror?.I'd like try my CZJ 28mm f/2.8, but it "touched" mirror when took infinity focus.
@philip_pj: thank alot.

Nice shot of the cat with the biotar 75/1.5.
Thanks for posting this as there are not many images posted with this lens.
Was this wide open?
It is interesting to see a shot with this lens with nice smooth bokeh, as it is known to have that magical squirly, whirly bokeh.
Do you have more shots you can post?
Anybody, know where to find MTF's for this lens?
I think it would be impossible for a close-up shot such as this to show swirly bokeh. It requires more distance to the OOF background, and a longer focus distance too I think. I have seen more shots of the Biotar like this (cat shots actually).
Yes, I agree. But I have seen more swirly bokeh shots than smooth bokeh shots in this forum.
I remember s few years back there was a FM'r called Biotar who posted some great shots with this lens which made me want to get this lens some time.
I think it may be the only fast lens that Paul Yi hasn't tried.
Here are a couple with the Biotar 75mm on Nex 5N that I took today. I would not say that this lens is sharp, but I suppose that is not the point. Both were taken at f2. Bokeh is not as wild as in the link that FlyPenFly posted, but it is still quite something.
This were pretty low contrast scenes, on a very cloudy day, so I'm interested in shooting something with more contrast to see how it reacts in that situation.
[edit - I changed the crop on the Red Leaves image, and I think it works much better.]

FlyPen - Nice watches ! I like the last one with dynamic layout.
+1!
and i hope to admire some landscape with the V-S 35-70 3.4,because im planning to buy that lens or a c/y 50 1.4, i found here in my city two good examples of V-S 35-70 MM for right $$$!
Thanks Nixland!
I did see your review of the lens in mf lenses which was nice since there is not a lot of info out there. I took a few shots last night free-lens style since I am awaiting adapter to come.
Pretty sweet lens. I notice in your comparison shots its rendering of the background where it retains shapes in the OOF bokeh rather than obliterating them like the Samy.
This reminds of the undercorrected SA design of the new ZE 35/1.4 which also retains shapes in its bokeh and has the slower, smooth transition to OOF.
I also see the biotars typical strong cats eyes render in some highlights.
That feature of the lens makes it fun and creative around lights like Xmas lights.
The swirly bokeh and impressionistic painting rendering in some cases are also reasons why I wanted this lens.
One last thing, your shots really show the Biotar's excellent sharpness and contrast wide open as it goes toe to toe well against the Samy which is no sloutch either wide open as we know.
