hiepphotog - Nice portrait. Seems quite sharp at 1.2 . Also I do not notice much haze like planar with the this distance and light condition.
Ronny - Your flower is just something else. Great color, composition.
ebookman - Nice color on the pumpkin.
LIeutenant - Great BW set of beetle. #1 is superb, #2 is humorous. Great pp work.
Xtobolic - I also got a 21(ZF) 28 (CY 28) and 35s ( ZF 1.4 and 2 ) And, 25 has been luring me. Actually, as I am a Nikon shooter, I am considering the 2.8 as I understand it is rather small. However, the color I see from 25 f2 is superb, and that is a very charming lens.
Phillip Reeve - Beautiful shots. Love the 28 shots especially #4. However, 45 rendition is quite lovely as well.
From Harriman State Park last weekend. Unfortunately, there is possibly a murder suspect hiding in the park somewhere now, which made our stay rather short.
Rented the 2/25 and 100/2 this past weekend and was surprised at how light each was. 25 was just short of amazing. Distortion was non-existent and only crept in with close up shots. Copy I had was not 0.4x max mag...more like 0.25. Checked it against Leica 100 APO and the Zeiss 2/100. Otherwise, just a superb lens and tremendous blues and earth tones.
100mm is my favorite focal length, and I loved the steep focus falloff, but the focus ring had a fair amount of focus creep (perhaps from rental abuse), making close up shooting pointed down at the ground somewhat problematic. Focus not as well damped as my Leica but still very precise.
Nice job on both lenses, Zeiss. But why does every ZE lens hood vignette terribly? Sure, they look pretty, but the hood for the 25 and my 35 might as well be ornamental.
Thank you for your kind comment Carsten, Ronny, Luka and Z. Very much appreciated.
Ronny - Another excellent shot. How did you light these shots? Front uniform lighting with some sort of continuous light source from the back.
Z - I like the first B&W shot, very interesting.
Phillip - I like them all, especially the 2nd.
Luka- nice capture. I love the depth as well. This Contax doesn't much haze at half body distance. With full body, if I do a 100% zoom, I would see some glow, but not much. I would not hesitate to shoot WO with this lens.
I have been at a conference with a few colleagues in San Antonio for several days. So these are some pictures that I have captured there.
This shot is an interesting case of filter flare. The picture itself is not that sharp due to motion blur (1/10s). This was taken after the Alumni party.
Dergiman: lovely sharp shot from the 24-85.
Ronny: Once again fantastic flower shots. TFS the tip on PPing them.
Phillip: lovely foliage shots. simply beautiful. especially the 45mm.
akul: loved the shot. nice contrast between the tree and the leaves...
hiepphotog: nice night shots. Also the zeiss 24mm looks good.
Great shots all around..
I'm reposting a few shots from the fall thread. If its not acceptable, I'll delete them from that thread.
These are taken using the ZF.2 2/100MP at Letchworth State Park.
Thank you Z and Ronny. I'm glad you like the set. It was fun for me since it's my first time to be at the Balloon Fiesta's Mass Ascension. Quite a sight!
Ronny - beautiful work as always. I will have to attempt this kind of shot when I get a macro. How did you black out the background?
