Only slightly off-topic note:
I like the way that these assignments force me to pay attention to things that I usually ignore. So this week I started to notice all the fire hydrants in my neighborhood. Every single fire hydrant that I saw was yellow. I thought they all used to be red. Who decided to make this change?

Then I noticed that the fire trucks in our city are no longer red either.....they are white!
Is there some kind of weird anti-red conspiracy going on?

Back on topic:
Here is my entry for the week.

Comments are always welcomed.

Like your idea and take.

White and yellow objects are much more noticeable than red - especially in dull or dark conditions.

Thanks for the comment.

I guess it makes sense to have more visible colors, but I miss all the red fire trucks from the old picture books....

Most fire hydrants in my town are red but we have yellow and red one where I work. Red ones are connected to the potable water supply and yellow ones are raw water.

This is a close-up of the chain connecting one of the valve caps to the hydrant.

It is a well done shot and I would like to see just a little reference to the hydrant in there somewhere too.

Thanks for the comments.

I appreciate the thoughts about the need to include more of the hydrant in order to make the image more fitting for the theme. It motivated me to go out and take some more shots.

I have submitted a new image.
