p.1 #1 · Upgrade from 200EG backpack?

Hi all,

I currently use a Canon Deluxe 200EG backpack to hold all my camera gear.

The good qualities of this bag are that it fits entirely inside my larger backpack (important for plane flights) and holds a lot of gear (body, lenses, speedlight, batteries, etc.) without too much bulk. It's also easy to take on a hike and comfortable to carry around.

However, I have recently acquired a 5D Mark II and a 24-70mm f/2.8L, and I am considering upgrading to a nicer case/bag as I am worried about the ability of this bag to protect my heavy and expensive gear. I am paranoid that it will come unzipped and my lenses will just fall out!

In particular, one of my coworkers uses a Pelican 1450 hard case, and I am considering acquiring one.

I'm looking for advice here - should I get a different case, or should I go with what I have?

Thanks!
