First, the ouch part - I broke my leg (Fib and Tib) last friday playing soccer so I'll be doing a bit more commenting on than posting pics for the next few weeks. I now have a metal rod in my lower right leg holding it together.
and yes, it bloody hurt ! more than you can imagine.
Anyways, a few shots from the beach at the end of my road last thursday...
the fish was stolen from a local fisherman's tinny while he was casting for bait.
Sorry to hear about the breaks, I'll bet hurt was an understatement! Funny that this egret stole a fish You did a nice job on the whites, good looking color and the nice low angle works good too!
Will look forward to your FM commentary, hope the healing proceeds without incident. Take care, I will keep in mind that if the commentary gets silly I will attribute to pain killers
Sorry to hear about the injury. No clean breaks, just cracks that I know of - - painful & a torn ligament in my knee - - I could not move for 20 minutes - alone at home.
Nice shots & now you can catch up on all your pp'ing.
Feel better & I also have a metal screw in my leg - from my surgery....
So sorry to hear about that terrible injury and hope that you will have a quick and full recovery. Nice shots, perhaps you can spend some time sorting and arranging your collection.
You're right, OUCH, that sounds painful. Try to take it easy during the convalesence. Nice catches here, for you and particularly for the both of you in #2 though he did cheat...
Hey - shattered my entire Right Lower Extremity (tib / fib) and had 4 steel rods coming out of my leg. The resulting compartment syndrome resulting in a fashiotomy to my Right leg and two months in a wheel chair. Once out of the wheel chair I fell down a flight of stairs (with the pins still hanging out of my leg) wound up re fracturing my leg................. Almost lost my leg after that one........ amputation was definitely discussed........ But my parents refused (Thanks Mom and Dad)
All is somewhat fine now But I still have pain / foot drop / and one hell of a scar. But I still have two legs
Nice shots >> Hope you mend fast and incident free

Thanks Karl. It was funny to watch him sneak up to the boat and nab the catch as the guy walked off to try and catch some bait. Esp. considering they are usually so nervous, not he, he was straight in there !

Best Wishes,

Cheers Steve, I got plenty of shots as it was a big "catch" and he sure struggled to get it down !
if it's any consolation, after a couple of minutes of indescribable pain, your body's defence mechanism kicks in and the area goes kinda numb, as long as you don't move !

Ouch, fib and tib??!! I sure hope the swine who did that to you got red carded!!
Super photo's, though!! And don't let the breaks stop you. You could always use the crutches as a makeshift tripod (bipod?)!!
Frank
Cheers Frank.
Wierd thing is, it was one of my team mates coming the other way.
I'm a danger to myself and others just with the crutches, never mind a d300/300 2.8 swinging around in front of me ! maybe I'll get the wife to drop me at the beach with a chair for the morning ? it's not like I haven't already thought about it !

Jeez Anthony, I thught I had it bad ! I was warned about compartment syndrome and that I would know if I got it because the pain would let me know, even through all the painkilling drugs !
Andy, sorry about your leg. I broke mine a few years ago playin' soccer too. since then I gave up on playing soccer...only on Xbox 360 now
Great egret shots
the angle is so low I can almost see throught the water
Ouuuuuuch! My dad did the same thing a couple of years ago at about the same time of year. Anyway, you have some terrific shots here and plenty of motivation to heal quickly so you can go out and get more later
