Lee Wiren Offline Image Upload: On p.1 #2 · Cactus Well,.....I like it, yet again, there is something not right to me at the same time. I think the fact that you gave such contrast to the sky/cloud, to me (on my screen) it makes the cactus look overexposed. I like the contrast in the clouds...so keep that, any way to get less exposure on the cactus? maybe go into lr2 (if your using it) and use the nice healing brush to tone down the exposure in just that part of the pic? just my opinion, you may not want to change anything, I also wonder if the angle you used was the best, maybe with the mountain range being higher and less of the dramatic sky....or lower to give more of the great sky look and less land, not sure, maybe you have it right after all and I am wrong, to me there is something off even though I like it. jflowers Offline Image Upload: Off p.1 #4 · Cactus Stunning image, but the foreground (left and center) is void of subject and draws the eye! I'd tone it way down (with shape) and leave the rest. The Cactus highlights are almost "blown" but I think the foreground is adding to it's effect and thus exagerrating it's appearance....... Very nice Sky shape! Dizzy Aug 09, 2008 at 01:30 PM

The texture of the trees in the background almost have sort of an Ansel Adam's tree feel to them (the lovely texture. But the closer cactus doesn't seem to fit in very well... is it just me? mihind24 Offline Image Upload: Off p.1 #6 · Cactus No no, by all means, thank you for the opinions and insights. I did two different conversions and blended them. I turned the blue channel down to like -200 to get the contrast in the sky and cactus, and another one for the rest of the foreground because it looked much more blown out than right now. I'll try again with a different conversion on the cactus. Ok here's another attempt...still can't do much about the rest of the foreground heh.
