Ever since getting a 85mm f/1.4 i've been considering getting a fast wide. Unfortunatly nikon is not intrested in making any and the only one worth considering is ridiculously expensive (you know the one!!). So i was a little supriesed when i saw the sigma 24mm f/1.8. Seems like the lens i'am looking for. I've considered the sigma 30mm but with the crop factor of the DX format this comes close to the 50mm FL of the film days. I never used my 50mm lens those days and going through shotsmade with my 18-70mm lens it was weird to see the majority had been made b/w 18-24mm and at the long end (70mm). So i'am intrested in getting a 24mm f/1.8 to compliment the 85mm. How good/bad is this lens? focus speed is a non issue but sharpness and bokeh are important. Anyone care to share some info?

Dragonfly on here has had both the 20 and 24 f/1.8's from Sigma. If I had extra cash I'd consider the 20. They are supposed to be pretty good, and there's nothing like them.
here is an example... I almost bought that lens used but the pictures exhibited terrible CA fully open in high contrast areas and the lens was soft fully open, even more focused @infinity. I gave it back.
On the other hand, the low light capabilities are amazing: an example on the D200, fully open (1.8) http://farm1.static.flickr.com/39/121447535_2a5905f735_o.jpg
Thanks guy!! CA is not an issue for me as i PP all my shots and shoot in RAW. However lack of sharpness is a deal breaker (wide open). Damn!! any chance nikon will release some wide primes in the next few months?
