p.1 #1 · #293: finned radio

The design of this 1951/52 Crosely model D-10CE AM radio is cleary inspired by automobiles of the 1950's. Fins racing across the side and the speedometer like tuning dial all contribute to the effect. Taken today. Thanks for looking.

It definitely has a retro, automotive feel to it. Nice shot, Nick.

Retro to the hilt. Very nice. I might have rotated it about 2 degrees clockwise, but that's just me.--Frank

BRAVO Nick...this is retro on many levels. Not only is it an oldie but goodie radio, but the styling is very unique with the car look and rounded edges. And your processing seems retro as well, soft lighting, soft color.
great shot for this theme

The first thing I thought of was a retro radio, but I don't own one. Know of a guy on ebay that has thousands! Perfect fit to the theme...well done, Nick.

Fantastic shot for the WA, Nick, my friend! I haven't seen anything like this in a long while. Does it still work?

Fond regards,

Endre

thanks Endre,
Yes, it still plays. To bad the only thing any good on AM any more is NPR. I can't stand the talk show format. I remeber listening to the top ten countdown, mystery theater and other good am programming. I guess FM radio and cable TV did it in.
