Shoot tighter, get closer, watch out for large men in lawn chairs/chain-link fences
A lot happening in that third shot, a lot of horizontal lines and shadows and stuff. Every aspect there is fighting for the viewer's attention, and even that aside, I'm not sure who the "main" subject is.. the runner, or the pitcher. And unless it was a big play -- as in he perhaps got picked off in a big situation -- its not really that strong

I'll second Dan's comments. The first image is the best but would benefit from a crop at the right edge of the dust cloud. I would also suggest just checking a couple sports pages each day to get a feel for angle and composition.
