p.1 #1 · Primate Prison

Im Super GREEN... Just bought my first DSLR, a Canon 40d and took it to the zoo to test it out. Please let me know what you think. This was shot through the glass, and with a 50mm 1.8 II. I didnt realize how the iso speed would change my exposure. So this was shot at 100iso and around 1.8 / 1/40.

I think it is very effective - certainly makes me feel sad for this fellow.

I think it is good but too centred. I would crop the bottom 1/3 and rigtht third off to put the primate off centre closer to the rule of thirds.

Good choice of b/w to accentuate the mood. It could use a bit of shadows/highights to fix the dark areas and bring out the details in the brighter areas.
