Thank you . Most of these are from one of the overcast mornings which made the exposure less challenging.

Sometimes overcast is the better way - - or at least a tad easier.

Wow Rob! These are really great. Hard to pick a favorite. The lighting looks very good to me. Nice and soft but enough to really play with some highlights. These are just beautiful.

some really nice work Rob....definitely work egrets in late/early overcast light.
They are likely to show less dynamic range and you can get full gradation.

really nice.....wow, a head profile would put #5 way over the top

Thank you Mark, Dave, Bruce...

It's interesting to see which shot people prefer. I haven't done much posting here at all and even less so multiple-image posts. Number three (popping the fish into his mouth) is something that took awhile to capture and I do like it, but I much prefer photographing them in flight, landing, etc.

To each his own, and thanks for taking time to comment.

I looked at your first set before commenting on your shots in this second set. My comment is: WOW! I don't get to see these birds as they are not as common as they apparently are in your area -- they are beautiful. I think you did a great job with the exposure on the first set -- the second shot I great with the reflections on the bottom wing. Very nice -- several are wall hangers! Steve W

Thanks to Jon, Socrate, and JJ.

Steve, these are indeed lovely birds. I hope you get a chance to photograph them someday. They're pretty common here but that doesn't stop me from shooting or appreciating them. Thanks so much for the kind words.
