Not new, but buying used saves you some money. Many of my lenses and gear has been "pre-loved" and means I've saved a lot over the years. If a warranty is important to you, buy from B&H, KEH, or Adorama's used departments - they should all have some sort of warranty. If that's not as important, there are thousands of reputable sellers here who likely have anything you can think of for sale. You may get a good deal on ebay, but check the seller's feedback - if they have been selling $3 tshirts for 4 years, and now are selling $5000 camera lenses for $1000, well...I would suggest avoiding that seller... Some people have good luck with craigslist - based on what I've seen there locally, the prices are not that great - people think they will get $100+ more than these things are going for from reputable sellers who'd give you a warranty...but it can be worth a check...
Buying used camera gear is the best way to save money in photography if you're gonna be buying gear anyway....
Software companies DO offer discounts for students, as I'm sure you know.
