p.1 #1 · First Post - Family Candids

The quality of posts on this site is generally excellent, and I have learned a lot reading through the pages over the last few years.

This is my first post with pics of my first ever family portrait session. Comments and further tips appreciated.

1, 3, and 5 are without a doubt my favorite. The others tell a great story but the left arm on the girl missing is distracting to me and 4 is just too soft for me.

Great family photos though, and I love the expressions on #3 and #5, #3 especially is a keeper in my humble opinion - the focal point being a bit in front of th face is easily forgiven by the expression

Very nice, I really like the emotions that these candids show.

Thanks for the comments. Appreciated. I agree that a few photos are quite soft, either from focussing issues or movement as the kids never keep still and I get a little heavy on the shutter sometimes. Number 4 was cropped a bit exaggerating the softness.

I respect the skill required with the 85 1.2 - you certainly know when focus is off in the slightest!
