Clearly a 5D would have made this such a better photo..
OK. I guess I am expressing my annoyance with all the Canon acolytes, and the Canon wannabe's telling me how my camera, and any other APS-C camera is junk.
A camera is a tool. And the above photo would not have been any better or worse on a 5D, assuming I maintained proper technique, and didn't scare my son with a 300mm F/2.8 hanging off that 5D.
Seriously I rather have D2X than 5D. I am willing to trade the high ISO performance for better AF, 5/8fps, and IMHO better flash and metering.
I havn't met any Canon shooter who irrationally rave about 5D and FF. I did told my Nikon friends not to look at the high ISO shots of 5D. It's just so good... Compared to my D70 at least.
What I have found is that ISO800 on my D70 with 70-200 VR got a very speical film like look to it. Personally I am starting to use ISO 800 on my D70 now. I havn't got too many people complain about the noise. In fact I sometimes need to boost my RAW by 1 EV in ACR, and it looked fine to me.
