p.1 #1 · Need Advice: Canon MX850, MX7600 v. IP6000D

I have had a Canon IP6000D for a number of years - and like it. Good photo quality, good print quality, etc.

However, I am looking for an all-in-one -- I need a scanner and a fax, and have limited space. I would replace the IP6000 with the all-in-one, but don't want to compromise on photo quality.

I'm looking at the Canon MX850 (about $160 at Best Buy) and the MX7600 (about $100 more than the 850) -- the specs for the 2 are similar, but they have fewer ink cartridges than my IP6000. The salesman at retail tells me that I will get better photo's from these (and better photo's from the MX7600 over the 850), but I am very skeptical of the guys that work in the big box stores.

Does anyone have any insight on these (or other) printers? Good, bad? Would I be taking a step down in quality from the IP6000?

Thanks in advance

Ira
