At their request, I sent a portfolio book to a major global corporation. They have retained my portfolio for four months. They did tell me up front that it would be several months before the photographer was chosen. In the experience and opinion of others here, is four-plus months a reasonable or unreasonable length of time to retain a photographer's book?
Unreasonable, but I guess you probably feel that it might harm your chances if you request it back and they are potentially a big payday? Bit of a catch 22 maybe...
Thank you for your input. I'm not worried about offending them by asking for it back, and don't need it back immediately because I have additional books, but at the same time I do want it back when they are finished with it so I don't want it to get lost in the shuffle.
