This is actually an old one.. well, from christmas eve. I took about an hour of 1-4min exposures, and for some reason only processed the 4 min one. But now I find this 1 min one much more exciting, so I figured I'd take a quick break from the buckskin area to let this guy out.. enjoy
I really wish I could just move to the southwest.. at least Pasadena's not too far away.. can't wait , plus I bet there's a lot more FMers in the LA area than in Ithaca.. maybe we can meet up!
When are you coming to Pasadena? You definately have an invite to come with me out to Little Corona!
This one now... man that is wild! I can't believe you skipped over that one! You might want to warn everyone to put ND filters over their eyes before looking at this one though... I am sure there might be a few who won't like the wild colors, but man, this thing rocks! I would love to see this baby printed large.

haha.. yea.. I put up a warning
I'm moving to Pasadena in september - headed to Caltech.. and hopefully will be able to maintain some free time, we'll definitely have to meet up!
September will be great. I have the trip to Havasu Falls in another month, and then a few weeks after that I will be in Alaska. Gonna get dropped off for a week by a bush plane back in Denali. So by September my schedule should settle back down!

That sounds ridiculously amazing.. makes me kinda jealous granted, from june-september I have no commitments and plan to spend nearly every day outside exploring, mostly the northwest
Jokes aside I think this shot is a little oversaturated for my taste. If you were to just tone it down a little I would probably enjoy the shot a lot more. What I love though is the range of colour in this shot and the beautiful compliments between the sky and the foreground. The motion in the cloud is great too.

I agree... for some reason there's certain colors that go crazy when I put them on the web. It seems to be a particular orange that tends to go overboard through the web, I've had that problem before, but have no idea how to fix it (besides drastically under saturating the file, since it doesn't seem to be a linear conversion). In the original file the hoodoos are a little less radioactive orange, and a little more magenta (and a little less painfully bright/saturated), which is more pleasing to the eye. So in my opinion this version is just a bit over the edge, but the original file isn't, though it's close After I posted it I went back the original, planning on removing some saturation, but then it looked fine... so I'm sure in print it'll be ok.. if only I could get the web to match what I mean it to!
