p.1 #1 · Question On Canon Factory Service

The Canon service center in NJ has my rig.
Just wondering if they will call or email me a tracking number when they ship it back?
Do they use UPS or FedEx?

Thanks

p.1 #2 · Question On Canon Factory Service

Assuming you provided an email address when you sent it in several things will happen.

1. When it gets into thier system (mine took about a week from the time it arrived) you will get an email that says they have it, along with an estimate of the cost ($0 if warranty work) to fix the problem you gave for sending it in for service.

2. Several days later you will get letters stating the same thing. Go figure.

3. When the work is completed they will email you tracking number(s).

If it goes anything like my recent experience with NJ service you'll get the tracking email about three hours before your stuff is actually delivered.

Mine came FedEx standard overnight, FWIW.

I did the online thing to get a Work number, but then I also received a letter from Canon stating that my camera was in the repair dept's hands.

They also told me that they would ship it back FedEx overnight, same as what mbellot said, while mine is still there, I'm "patiently" waiting for it to get back!
(see my post regarding Camera repair wait)

My stuff is in NJ too. They received it Friday, I got my confirmation emails today. I hope it doesn't take TOO long, I really miss it.

How long does it usually takes them to calibrate? I am planning to send all my gears for calibration before the warranty ends early March.
