I've this major doubt, that lots of people have:
EOS305d cost me 200$ more than D50 (here in Europe).

Does it really worth that extra price?
Canon fans out there, let me know in which way

You are buying into a SYSTEM, not just a single camera body. The investment in lenses over time is more than the camera body. Who has what you want? If price and a single body/lens combination is all that is important, look at the Pentax - its the cheapest digital SLR and is still a good camera.

I played around with a D50 the other day and was surprised how cheap it felt. I expected a sturdier feeling camera.

I have the 350 and love it. I only have gripes about it when I push it over ISO 800 - but I'm kind of picky.

I have nothing against Nikons or anything, was just surprised that the D50's buttons and such felt 'loose' or something.

What system do you plan to own in the future? WIth a DSLR the lenses and accessories will most likely work with newer models. There is probably little else to think about but this.
