An HO scale model railroad created by Jeffrey Sipress

The location is a tall narrow valley surrounded by exquisite mountain ranges somewhere in eastern California called the Owens Valley. It starts in snow and ends in the Mojave. It's got minerals and agriculture filling it's history, with only Native Americans preceding that. Stuck right between this country's highest and lowest points, it's an oasis of beauty that draws only those who must retreat from the crowded cultures and who are brave enough to travel hard. There you'll find portals and peaks, water and wonder, and, strangely enough, one very interesting little railroad.

The Inyo Line is modeled in both HO and HOn3 and depicts life and the western railroad scene in the first half of the 20th century. Based on the Southern Pacific Narrow Gauge line that ran from Laws to Keeler in eastern California, the I&WMRR veered a bit off history to include development by the SP and the Santa Fe. The area prospered and other roads such as the Virginia & Truckee, Western Pacific, and D&RGW are often seen interchanging.
