Dude, has anyone told you that you're good at this? There's something really nostalgic with B&W. 11 and 13 are terrific, and will be appreciated even more as the years go by. #8 is funny - 2 kids playing with their glasses, and the other one totally into himself with some kind of puzzle

Thanks all for the comments! I'm actually surprised that this is the 'featured thread'. It got almost no response and I personally think its just 'ok'. It's an honor that people felt differently. That's one of the big reasons I like posting here...it gives me an opportunity for others to tell me how they view my photography.

SloJoe, you'd discard it...thats why you'll never make it in this business! haha. Just kidding of course. I dont think the shot is anything sensational or even 'good' on its own, but it is very reflective of this wedding day. The venue was a restaurant and it was a Sunday afternoon wedding with almost no dancing. It was mainly a quick ceremony...cocktail hour...dinner (with a first dance/speech/parent dances). On the real, its totally cool that you would discard it...i wouldnt blame you...you gotta do for you.

I was not dissing the shot at all. I was more looking for insight as to WHY you shot it in the first place, and then why you found it powerful enough to sit along the rest of these shots. I am really bad at 'seeing'/ finding shots that just show the environment. I cull/hate most of mine and am finding that I am shooting less and less of them because I do not see anything in them.

No worries Joe! And I didnt take it as a dis...at all. I hope I provided insight as to why I shot and posted it (it was reflective of the day). As for finding those shots...I try to exist in the environment...i know that sounds like I'm trying to get deep (I'm really not). Its just that its the complete opposite for me. I try to 'be a guest'. I think seeing the environment is much easier when I think that way.
