I likee, great framing in all of them, but the 3rd one has the composition which really rocks in my eyes.

So, Psych, if I read this right, it looks like you might have found your 2nd nature in 17mm T/S lens ?

Thank you Peter.

I have been using the TS-E24L for a few years and I find the 17 a mojor improvement.

Getting a tripod permit was the hardest part

I've never heard of a "tripod permit".....usually some venues do not allow tripods, period, end of discussion.

permits-Another way for cities to get some extra $. It's amazing they didn't refuse photos due to homeland security fears.

Very nice, I was going to ask you about tripod use. How many hoops did you have to go through?

Great shots, indeed!

How did you go about that, if I may ask? I know that all of NYC require them, but I guess Grand Central it would be really enforced, and possibly you need a separate one?

Actually, if you are a professional photographer they make permits available for FREE after checking your credentials.

Tripods cause problems in congested areas so they limit the number and more importantly the time.

No one shoots during rush hour.

Nice shots. Just a suggestion, when using a TS lens try to get your vertical lines straight. I don't know how much time you had to compose the shots.

The 50 macro is one good lens, and if you factor in its age, size and price, it is a superb lens. Psych's clock picture shows nicely its application scope.....not just for macro photography. Perhaps some day Canon will update it (and double the price, as that usually goes).
However, there is also very excellent EF-S 60 f/2.8 Macro.....that is also one of those lenses I wish I hadn't sold.

They sure look straight to me. They also look vertical. They also look non-converging (not tilting), which is what you were probably trying to say. To what are you referring exactly and which shot(s) are flawed and how?

#1 diverges going up and #3 are not perpendicular. I admit it's nitpicking, but I know it would bother me after I processed them.

I see, thanks. I think #1 has an optical illusion that makes it appear to diverge, but I haven't put a grid over it. I see now the slight lack of perpendicularity of #3 (for example at the very top).

Come to think of it, I don't even think that would be noticeable in live view on the back screen. I would guess that a laptop setup would be needed to tether. This would give a nice big display to check on site just like a view camera.

Thank you all for you kind comments, I was not certain of the results because Mrs Psycho said they were "OK".

Eric, the section of the ceiling you mentioned is not perpendicular to the walls or parallel to the other ceiling sections.

Last week was the 100th anniversary and it seems the lazer level has come a long way
