Photographing a Photographer

One project that I've always wanted to do was do environmental portraits of an artist, doing what they are really passionate about. As a photographer and friend, Rei came to mind, and I thought it would be really cool to tell the story of a story-teller :) After some planning and coordination, Rei and I did the shoot at her house. It was a nice challenge for both of us, since Rei is rarely in front of the camera, and I've never photographed another photographer for the sake of portraiture before! My goal for the shoot was authenticity, so Rei wore her typical photoshoot clothes, and I had her walk me through a typical shoot day. Besides that, we hung out and eventually lost track of time :)

Thanks for stopping by, and Happy New Year!!

After shoots, Rei likes to find somewhere quiet and go through her images...

In front of the camera...but behind it at the same time :)

Like me, Rei isn't the biggest fan of post production lol

One of Rei's early visual inspirations was National Geographic...
