p.1 #1 · Lumapix Fotofusion Anyone?

So I am thinking of pickign this up to create collages and albums and different types of layouts for photobooks. I was wondering if anyone has used it, or is using it as a part of their workflow?

I am open to suggestions for any alternative software that are just as good if not better.

I would like to know your experience with this software please.

Cheers.

I just got mine, can't speak from experience with it yet, but this program is very powerful for designing layouts.

I've had it for a few years, the only reason I still have an old PC laying around is so I can use it for designs. Very solid, very user friendly... I recommend it.

I have it. Using it to create a collage for my son's 1st birthday party. Using the auto collage feature saved me some serious time.

I like it, that said, I'm fairly certain there are better options for a "professional" designer. It just so happens that I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night, though...

I really wish I could use this. I was about to purchase it, but realized that it only works with Windows (at least as far as I know). I WISH there was something like this for Mac as I rather do everything in PS CS3 manually than use Windows.

(Never found time to learn inDesign - noobish of me)

Saad, it's well worth it to pickup a cheap PC just to use FF. Damn good program that can do practically everything you would want to do with an album designer.

Which version are you guys using? Looks like the middle version does nearly everything the top of the line version does. Any reason to pay the $300 for the extreme version?

I don't remember the differences, exactly, but it had to do with file output size. I don't think you can output 2 page spreads with the middle version. There are some other differences, but as I remember, that was the big one for me.

The full version allows you to work on and export an entire project (album), while the middle version is page-by-page. There are also some differences with output size and formats but for me the ability to work on the whole album at the same time is a must.

I've downloaded the trial and am itchin to buy it. It does seem good. Can anyone comment about how well it interfaces with graphistudio albums? Thanks.

actually after you get the hang of it, fotofusion really kicks but. you never get the same thing twice and you can easily put in borders etc.

I've been using it for about a year now. It's extremely userfriendly and fast, yet allows you to create classic/simple to more complex designs.

I have the extreme version and I can crank out a 40 spread album in under 10 hours. I just did a 15 spread album in 3 hours actually. I wouldn't buy any other album software.

YES, Fotofusion is the bomb. I have used it for years and would not use anything else. Get the Extreme Edition - totally worth every dime.

I have the extreme version. I don't remember exactly what the limitation with the middle version was that made it useless but there was one. Maybe it was the spread size.

Oh and the dude who said 10 hours for 40 spread album was obviously including things like picking the images and maybe even some adjusting... otherwise if you already know what you're gonna do the spreads are superfast to put together.

From their website:

Mac support
Mac owners are reporting great results running our software on their Intel-based Macs with the help of either VMWare or Parallels. These are two inexpensive third-party tools that enable Windows applications to run on Intel-based Macs.

The software performs just as fast as on a Mac system, and it appears as "just another window on the Mac desktop" (you can run our software and native Mac apps at the same time).

I use it - Indesign just looked too complicated when i started messing around with it when I first started. Fotofusion does everything i need quickly. I also layout blog posts in it.

yeah, I was going to ask why people don't know about this. I saw the fotofusion demonstrated 2 weeks ago on a mac and it was just the same. all you need is to use parallel.

I've used it for a few years. I've done more albums this year than any in the past. My couples like it. Other photographers...well...

http://www.celebrationfocus.com/album_samples/2007-DHWA/DHWA-1.html

I seem to be getting more couples on their second time around...

As far as posed pictures....they pick 'em...that's what they want.
