Posted this sometime ago in color - your thoughts for the converted version?

Off the top - the horizon violates the rule-of-thirds...

silvawispa

Fact is, the only boat permitted on the lake belongs to the National Park Service. It is a closed ecosystem and they do all they can to preserve it.

silvawispa,

Thanks for looking - sky was a clear and crisp as one can imagine at an elevation of ~ 7000 ft.

Scott,

Thanks for looking and your comments - straight BW was too 'cold' for me.

I like it Bob. Perhaps giving it a tiny bit more contrast might be an option. One way to add a little jump to it would be a duplicate layer, Soft Light blending mode and perhaps 50% opacity:

AuntiPode,

Thanks for the re-work, bump in contrast does help.

AuntiPode,
Every one of your reworked images comes out better than the original.

Keep up the good work.

HA! AuntiePode, that's been my contrast tool of choice since I ran across it a while back, but I usually end up around 30% opacity. I never would have thought to use it on this image.

I like the conversion, but agree some clouds or.... something.... would help the sky.

Jeremy, sometimes I try half a dozen different methods until I find what I like.

Jeremy1981,

Point - clouds - noted, however I prefer to leave images, particularly landscapes, in their natural state...that is the way the sky was.

Yup, AunitPode rocks

Thanks, Bob! Now, if I could just climb out of my rocker.... For some reason folks claim I left it.
