The
Nikon CSpro Plugin is a new sharpening technology specific
designed to accommodate the Nikon D100
and D1x digital SLR files.
This plugin is compatible with JPEG files straight
from
the camera or TIFF/JPEG files converted from NEF.
*The
Nikon CSpro v1.1 only works with 16-bit files when
using Photoshop CS. When using Photoshop Elements
1 and
2, Photoshop 6.0 or 7.0, it will only work with
8-bit files.
The
Nikon CSpro Plugin
is compatible with Photoshop
Elements 1 and 2, Photoshop 6.0, 7.0
and Photoshop CS.
NOTE: PC
and MAC FM plugins are offered as separate packages.
Make sure to order the correct one for your operation
system.

Complexity makes this plugin very smart: It provides everything from haloless
sharpening, edgesharpening, luminance sharpening, mode sharpening, and more
with just the press of a button.
Included are 5 automated intensity levels and 2 Tweak levels.

Below is an
example comparing the D100 Nef file converted to 8-bit
tiff with no sharpening as camera parameter against a
basic USM setting and Nikon CS PRO:

Photoshop's
USM can achieve a good level of sharpeness alone, but
it introduces noise and artifacts which are noticeable
on this 100% crop sample. The Nikon CS PRO does not increase
noise by only sharpening the foilage.
Now, let's
compare USM and Nikon CS PRO for detail. By the way all
the samples are 100% crops from full 8-bit tiff files
saved as jpg low compression.

On the above
demonstration, you can see that the Nikon CS PRO
gives your full size images more detail and less noise
in the shadow areas when comparing to Photoshop's USM.
It also provides haloless sharpening to the foliage. Again,
these are 100% crops.
It's worth
noting that Nikon CS PRO can be used with any type
of images, from portraits, landscape, still-life and especially
with HIGH ISO files. It sharpens your files while keeping
noise and artifacts to a minimum. (Also works with
jpeg files straight from the camera.)
